  • Wider Return Pledge Infographics

    Coronavirus (COVID-19): What you need to do

    Stay at home

    • Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (where this absolutely cannot be done from home)
    • Stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people
    • Wash your hands as soon as you get home

    You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms.

    A massive thank you to our communities who have followed the government guidance and kept their children away from school wherever possible. In light of the new ‘lockdown’ measures, we urge you to continue to consider whether the safest place for your child to be is in school. We will be here for those parents with absolutely no safe alternative.

  • Updated guidance for education settings on coronavirus (COVID-19)

    Today, the Department for Education and Public Health England have issued updated guidance for education settings on COVID-19. This guidance will assist staff in addressing COVID-19 in educational settings. This includes childcare, schools, further and higher educational institutions.

    What you need to know:

    • staff, young people and children should stay at home if they are unwell with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature to avoid spreading infection to others. Otherwise they should attend education or work as normal
    • if staff, young people or children become unwell on site with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature they should be sent home
    • clean and disinfect regularly touched objects and surfaces more often than usual using your standard cleaning products
    • supervise young children to ensure they wash their hands for 20 seconds more often than usual with soap and water or hand sanitiser and catch coughs and sneezes in tissues

  • Keyingham Primary joins TCAT

    Dave McCready, CEO said: 'We are delighted to report that Keyingham Primary School has joined The Consortium Academy Trust (TCAT). We have worked with the school staff, parents and the Local Authority over the last three months to prepare the school for conversion to an academy and we are confident that under the leadership of Victoria White the new academy will go from strength to strength over the coming years.

    The poor Ofsted outcome of March 2019 impacted across the whole community and it is our responsibility, as a Trust, to work together to ensure that the pupils currently at the school, and those who join in the future, receive the best possible education in a safe and stimulating environment that motivates and encourages them to do their very best in order to achieve their personal goals.

    We recognise the faith that the Regional Schools Commissioner has invested in our Trust in deciding we had the experience and expertise to lead the school forward into a brighter future. We look forward to repaying his faith, and that of parents and the local community, over the coming years.'

  • Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

    Our academies, and all East Riding schools, are actively monitoring the situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) and are acting on any advice given by Public Health England and specific advice provided for schools by the Department for Education.

    Guidance for travellers returning from certain areas has been updated today. It starts as follows:

    If you have returned from these specific areas since 19 February 2020, you should call NHS 111 and stay indoors and avoid contact with other people even if you do not have symptoms:

    • Iran
    • Specific lockdown areas in Northern Italy as designated by the Government of Italy (12 specific towns)
    • Special care zones in South Korea as designated by the Government of the Republic of South Korea
    • Hubei province (returned in the past 14 days)

    We have not been made aware of any student or staff member who has returned from any of the above areas since 19 February 2020. 

    If you have returned from these areas since 19 February 2020 and develop symptoms, however mild, you should stay indoors at home and avoid contact with other people immediately and call NHS 111. You do not need to follow this advice if you have no symptoms:

    • Northern Italy (defined by a line above, and not including, Pisa, Florence and Rimini) outside the specific lock down areas in Northern Italy as designated by the Government of Italy
    • Vietnam
    • Cambodia
    • Laos
    • Myanmar

  • TeachMeets schedule confirmed

    We're delighted to announce the following TeachMeet events have been scheduled into the calendar for this academic year.

    11 December - Closing the Gap (Cottingham High School and Sixth Form College)

    ‪TeachMeet to explore and share primary and secondary TCAT academies' approaches and strategies to closing the achievement gap between disadvantaged and non disadvantaged learners.

    ‪‪11 March - Driving Challenge (Hessle High School and Sixth Form College)

    ‪TeachMeet to explore and share TCAT primary and secondary academies' pedagogical practices and lesson content ‪to ensure the application of appropriate and effective challenge, delivery and management of effective scaffolding and personalised learner challenge & expectations.

    ‪‪6 May - Creative Curriculums (Winifred Holtby Academy)

    ‪TeachMeet to explore and share TCAT primary and secondary academies' creative curriculum content which imaginatively engages learners to meet challenge, enjoy their learning and drive their desire to learn.

    ‪‪24 June - Engage & Inspire (Wolfreton School and Sixth Form College)

    ‪TeachMeet to explore and share TCAT primary and secondary academies' pedagogical practices which imaginatively engages and inspires all learners to enjoy their learning and promote their desire to be good and effective learners.

  • Croxby Way achieves results!

    Things have been changing in a local primary academy. After being placed into ‘Special Measures’ by OFSTED in December 2016 with SAT results around 30% below the national average and in the bottom 10% nationally for progress, a turnaround has taken place. Croxby Primary, which is now part of ‘The Consortium Academy Trust’ (TCAT), has been on an exciting journey over recent years.

    Kerry Mason, Assistant Headteacher for Teaching and Learning says ‘Since the Trust has taken over we have overhauled the curriculum at Croxby. We introduced a ‘Croxby Way’ curriculum which focuses on the skills and knowledge Croxby children need.’
